The short version: the salary you type is never sent anywhere. The calculation happens in your browser, and there are no accounts, no forms and no sign-ups.

What you type into the calculator
The calculators run entirely in your browser. When you enter a salary, an hourly rate, hours or a filing status, the arithmetic happens on your device. Nothing you enter is sent to us or to anyone else, and none of it is stored. Close the tab and it is gone.
Some pages show a fixed salary in their address, for example /calculator/texas/75000/. Those are ordinary published pages, the same for every visitor, and opening one is recorded like any other page visit (see below). What you type into the calculator never changes the address.
Accounts and forms
There are none. You cannot sign up, log in or submit a form on this site. We do not ask for your name, email address or anything else about you.
Server logs
Like every website, taxbetween is served by a hosting company whose servers record standard request information: the page requested, the time, your IP address and your browser's user agent. These records are used to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not combine them with anything else or use them to identify visitors.
Cookies
taxbetween itself sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. No third-party service on the site sets them either.
Analytics
The site currently runs no analytics or visitor-tracking service.
Advertising
The site currently carries no advertising.
Links to other sites
Every calculator links to the government documents its figures came from. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you follow a link.
Children
The site is written for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them. In fact we do not collect personal information from anyone.
If you email us
If you write to hello@taxbetween.com, we use your message and address only to reply and to check any correction you report. We do not add you to a mailing list or pass your address on.
Changes to this policy
If what the site collects changes, for example if analytics or advertising is added or removed, this page changes the same day and the date at the top changes with it.
